Yes, I’m one of those people who got up at 5 am on Saturday, May 18, 2018 to watch the royal wedding between Prince Harry and Megan Markle. It was a beautiful wedding; attended by scores of elegantly dressed people. I greatly enjoyed the live coverage. I had tears in my eyes as the car carrying the bride drove towards the church to marry her prince.
As a believer in Jesus Christ, I’m engaged as well. Someday, Christ will marry His bride, The Church. Let us rejoice and exult and give Him the glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and his Bride has made herself ready; it was granted her to clothe herself with fine linen, bright and pure”— for the fine linen is the righteous deeds of the saints. And the angel said to me, “Write this: Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb.” And he said to me, “These are the true words of God.” Revelation 19:7-9
Oh God, the recent royal wedding pales in comparison to The Royal Wedding that will take place between You and Your bride, the Church. For your Maker is your husband, the Lord of hosts is his name; and the Holy One of Israel is your Redeemer, the God of the whole earth he is called. Isaiah 54:5 I, along with scores of fellow Jesus lovers, will wear white. Not because of anything we did, but because of what Jesus Christ did for us on the cross. So that He might present the church to Himself in splendor, without spot or wrinkle or any such thing, that she might be holy and without blemish. (Ephesians 5:27) I can’t wait for this Royal Wedding to happen! Amen and Amen!
And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. Revelation 21:2
